Providing alternatives to empower families to amicably resolve their legal disputes

The Participation Agreement

Working with two lawyers trained in collaborative law is essential – the Collaborative Law Participation Agreement is the first step in the process and defines each parties’ obligations and intentions to create the best environment for settlement.  The Agreement can be tailored to fit the individual needs of each case but will always require:

  • participation and cooperation with the process

  • full disclosure (whether that is in the form of asset/income for a divorce or support matter or personal circumstances in a custody matter)

  • good faith negotiation and communication

  • that the attorneys will withdraw should the matter proceed to litigation.
